Beginners’ Guide To Bungee Jumping
April 4, 2022

Bungee jumping is an extreme outdoor activity involving a person jumping from a great height with a large cord attached. The launching pad is usually mounted on a cliff, crane, or any high structure from which the individual will jump. The fun in this activity comes from the free-falling. The cord attached to the person is usually elastic to cause a rebound after the fall before the person hits the ground. So, if you are looking for a new fun experience, bungee jumping is a must-try for you.

These are some essential tips to note if you are trying bungee jumping for the first time.

Choose the Right Company

If you’re going bungee jumping, it is better to jump with a trusted company. It would help if you looked out for their safety and risk management protocols in choosing the right company. Ensure that they have all safety measures put in place as this will boost your courage when jumping.

Do not look down

When trying bungee jumping for the first time, you’d be most likely scared of the height. So the best thing to do when you want to jump is to avoid looking down. Keep your gaze forward. Looking down will register the height you’re about to fall from in your mind, and you may end up not jumping.

Trust your Instructor

To have an easy and successful jump, you’ll need to trust your instructor. It is your instructor’s priority at that moment to ensure you have a successful jump. He’ll guide you through. Listen and carefully follow his instructions, and you’ll do just fine.

Put on Comfortable Clothes

You don’t want to ruin your jump experience with your skirt flying over your face as you jump or lose your shoes because they aren’t tied properly.

Put on comfortable clothes like a singlet and shorts or a t-shirt and pants. You can choose to jump barefooted or with really comfortable shoes. And if your shoes have laces, make sure they are well tied before you jump.

Eat light

If you are going for a jump, you might as well want to eat something light or not eat at all. If you overfeed, you may end up puking as you jump. Stay safe by trying not to stuff your belly with too much food.

Jump on the count

Jumping is probably the most challenging part of this activity. Many people come prepared but may end up not jumping at all. Do not be scared to try. Try to jump on your instructor’s count. Listen carefully to his voice and prepare your mind and body to jump before the last count. If you wait until he finishes the count, chances are you won’t jump on the first count.

Bungee jumping isn’t for the faint-hearted. So if you think yourself to be brave enough, this is a must-try activity for you. With the tips shared above, you’re sure to have a great time.
